Infant Program

(6 weeks-12months)

Our infant room is also known as our cub class.  In this class, teachers continuously communicate intentions and outcomes to children, in order to foster their feelings of trust and independence. By thoughtful listening and through respectful verbal and physical cues, teachers intend to create an atmosphere where each child feels secure, autonomous, competent, and authentic. Because of this trusting relationship, infants are given the space and time to master their own skills, and to learn and grow in a positive and encouraging environment. Basic sign language is introduced as a means to communicate needs and wants. Teachers interact with children at their level, not from above. This is an on demand room that focuses on the specific needs of each child. Sensory, art, music, language, and fine/gross motor experiences are introduced to support learning objectives.
